Products

  1. Are LABPLAS bags breathable?

Polyethylene films and nylon/polyethylene and polyethylene terephthalate/polyethylene laminates have some permeability to oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water vapor

  2. Are LABPLAS products sterile?

Most products are sterile, except for laboratory equipment. However, we advise you to check the data sheet of each product to validate its sterility.

LABPLAS products are sterile either by the extrusion process itself or by irradiation. The extrusion process for polyethylene tubes is performed at temperatures above 200°C (392°F), ensuring a 10-3 level of sterility assurance (NAS). For irradiated products, the sterilizing dose to ensure a 10-3 NAS has been established in accordance with ISO 11137.

  3. Are LABPLAS sterile sampling bags suitable for autoclave treatment?

No, the maximum temperature they can be exposed to while maintaining functionality is 80°C or 176°F, which does not allow for re-use after autoclaving. However, products can be decontaminated in an autoclave.

  4. Are the products made from heavy metals?

No heavy metal is used in the formulation of products at LABPLAS and complies with CONEG and RoHS requirements.

  5. Can LABPLAS products be immersed in a laboratory water bath?

Yes, at temperatures not exceeding 80°C or 176°F.

  6. How do LABPLAS sterile sampling bags react to cold temperatures, such as liquid nitrogen, in a laboratory environment?

LABPLAS products tolerate temperatures up to -100°C or -148°F. Contact with liquid nitrogen should therefore be avoided.

  7. What is the product's lifespan?

To obtain this information, you can find it in the technical data sheet available on each product page.

  8. What type of neutralizing solution is most appropriate for my surface sampling?

LABPLAS offers various neutralizing solutions. The choice depends on the family of disinfectant product used during surface cleaning. For more information, please check the 'Resources' section and select the 'Neutralizing Solutions' page.

  9. What type of plastic is used to make LABPLAS sterile sampling bags?

LAPLAS products are made from virgin polyethylene, nylon/polyethylene laminate or polyethylene terephthalate/polyethylene laminate. All our bags comply with the applicable Food and Drug Administration standards (21 CFR 177.1520 and 178.2010) and EU 10/2011 for use with food contact.

You can find this information in the certificate of conformity, as well as on the datasheets of each product for more specifications.

  10. Where can I find the temperature resistance of each product?

This information is available in the data sheet of each product.

  11. Which products can be autoclaved?

Some products in the microbio range are autoclavable. For more details, please refer to their respective data sheet.
